FOREWORD
For well over one decade now the pen of Dr Maurice
Udom has been meteorically fertile with yields of literary
works, notably plays, prose fiction and a text on English
grammar, Reader’s Companion on Use of English (2015).
Already in circulation since 2004 has been his debut play, The
blind gods, which was followed closely in 2005 by his first
prose work, Gambling with Destiny, and then other plays, The
Broken Sceptre in 2011 and The Golden Home in 2018. It is
behind this oeuvre that Dr Udom’s latest work, Part-Time
Lovers, takes its place. And, as with many a latest work, the
author has evidently dusted off from Part-Time Lovers most of
those natural blemishes that would characterize a writer’s
earlier works.
